Minnesota Genealogical Society

Need Some Help With Your Research?

The Minnesota Genealogical Society (MGS) Research Committee is made up of volunteers willing to help you with your genealogy questions! Volunteers perform research for a fee of $25 per hour. All fees support the library.  There is a one hour minimum plus possible expenses. Jump to the PayPal Buy Now Button.

We encourage you to contact the Research Committee at research@mngs.org for an estimate. Please have specific questions for us, and include family names, locations in Minnesota, dates, and where/when the person was born. Please remember to include your contact information.

We can also research outside the MGS Library (for example, at the Minnesota Historical Society) and we have access to extensive online sources. Many people from other states and foreign countries with family connections in Minnesota have been helped successfully in the past.

We have posted some ethnic research guides in the Public Downloads section of our website. We encourage other ethnic groups to submit their Help Guides to the Webmaster.
