Minnesota Genealogical Society Library

Our Facility:

The library is staffed by volunteers and houses a collection of more than 30,000 volumes in addition to maps, cd's, microfiche, and microfilms which complement other area library holdings.

The facility also serves as a meeting place for the MGS board, educational classes, various committees, and branch organizations. The library offers a place for researchers to talk genealogy, to hear suggestions on research problems, and to meet other genealogists to exchange ideas.

A photocopy machine and microfilm and microfiche readers and copiers are available for patrons use. The library is open to the public at the hours shown below. We invite you to visit us soon.

Computers are available with Internet and WiFi access. MGS provides access to the MGS Library accounts at Ancestry and access to Family Origins is provided thanks to Irish Genealogical Society International.

We are Located at:
1185 Concord St. N. Suite 218, South St. Paul, MN

Library Volunteers - Please Help Staff your Library!

Volunteers are needed to staff the library. Duties include opening and closing the library, answering the phone, and helping walk-in patrons find the materials they want. New volunteers are paired with an experienced volunteer to learn the ropes. No experience is necessary. Please consider regularly giving a few hours each month. Check the Volunteer Calendar below. Thanks! We can't do it without you!

If you are interested in volunteering at the library, contact mlund8307@yahoo.com.
