Joint Canadian Interest Group and French American Heritage Foundation Webinar

Learn about the fur trade in Minnesota, which was begun by French and French Canadian traders.  Included in the presentation is information about some of the key players in that activity as well as explorers associated with it

Greg Cash is of French and French Canadian descent.  One of his ancestors, Médard Chouart des Groseillieiers, was a coureur des bois and fur trader as well as one of the first two documented non-native Americans in Minnesota along with Pierre Esprit Radisson, his brother in law.  He started learning French at the age of ten at Lac du Bois, the French program at Concordia Language Villages (CLV), and later became a counselor there as well as at Les Voyageurs, CLVs other French language village.  Greg has lived and worked as an expatriate in London, England, Hong Kong, Paris, France and Milan, Italy and speaks French, German and Italian.  

Mr. Cash serves on the board of directors of the French American Heritage Foundation of Minnesota and is a member of the French American Chamber of Commerce of Minneapolis/St. Paul Key Opinion Leader Advisory Board.  He is on the Concordia Language Villages (CLV) National Advisory Council, CLV Strategic Planning Council and the Advisory Board of the Office for Technology Commercialization at the University of Minnesota.
