Are you relatively new to researching your family? Or maybe your efforts have been on and off for years and you need help focusing and sorting through all the records and websites. Level One is designed for you. Participants complete assignments as they work on their own family with instructor feedback and research guidance.
Level One is a series of four progressive classes designed to teach important genealogy skills, with three optional "office hours" coaching sessions in between classes to assist students as they progress through the course.
Participants will learn best practices, basic tools and methods, including commonly used record types, helpful forms, record keeping, navigating beneficial websites, research tools and planning. By the end of the course, they will have produced identity profiles, timelines, locality guides, research plans and research results for their chosen projects.
