Challenges in Irish Family Research: Brick Wall Panel

The annual session is an IGSI member favorite. Brick wall queries have been submitted by members in advance and will be used by the panelists to offer specific research suggestions. This is one of those precious opportunities to "look over the shoulders" of an experienced research team as they tackle ancestral mysteries.

About the Speakers:

Lois Abromitis Mackin is a professional genealogist focusing on American and English research. Lois writes and teaches about genealogical records and methods, including DNA. She was a founding member of the Minnesota Genealogical Society DNA interest group. She is currently a state officer for several lineage societies and a member of the Education Committee of the Irish Genealogical Society International.

Tom Rice is Certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists. He is a full-time genealogist, lecturer, and writer. Tom is a past Director and officer of IGSI and the Minnesota Genealogical Society and has provided countless hours of education to our members and class attendees.

Mary Wickersham is a professional genealogist who has been researching her own Irish roots for almost 25 years. Mary was an early user of Ancestry.com and other major genealogy databases. A past IGSI board member, Secretary, Treasurer and President, she now invests much of her time as IGSl's Web Editor and Septs Co-Managing Editor. She has given many classes for IGSI and other organizations and is a regular participant in IGSl's Brick Walls panel. Mary is a member of the Association for Professional Genealogists.
