Directions Cemetery was located a mile south of the old village of Saco, over the railroad tracks about a half-mile on the south side of the township road, on the hill. The village of Elmira was laid out in 1857. | ||||||||||||

| Notes The original Owatonna cemetery was near the old Chicago Northwestern Rail Road (near Front Street. Here I suppose that the Rail Road came thru and the early cemetery was right in the way of the tracks. This was in the Recorder's office I think. Listed the names in 1866 or so and the bodies were removed and reburied in the cemetery in the northern part of town which would be Forest Hill Cemetery.
