Genealogical, historical, and ethnic periodicals of the past hold gems on our ancestral families and localities including details on repositories, locality history, church records, cemeteries, military service, surnames, bibles, and migration. What is waiting for your discovery? These are only a few of the reasons to use these dusty publications and the array of those free online. The footnotes in some articles lead to more details and records you may not have encountered. Learn more about various finding aids to help locate the content of periodicals online and near you. The session highlights examples of these and other types of articles. An extensive handout is included with the class.
